Technological advancement has made the world to become a smaller place in many ways. For instance, it is possible now for an individual to sit down inside his bedroom and be communicating face to face with another person in another country, which is several miles away.
Also, it is possible for someone to be living in an African country and be working in a USA company as a virtual staff just like any other traditional staff. Advancements in technology has made all these possible.
2. When someone says that the world is shrinking, what the person is saying in essence is that, he is referring to the impact of technology on the world at large. The technological advancements in today's world has made the world to look smaller than it really is due to the fact that almost everything can be assessed through the use of the internet. Globalization has contributed to the view that the world has diminished into a smaller size because one can easily access any part of the world right from his location via the internet.

Rapid advancements in the world of technology made things smaller in different aspects. Information and Communication technology are upgrading day by day. Years ago what can only be imagined is now the part of life. The whole world is summarized on the biggest platform at the shortest distance, known as "The Internet".

Technology removes Geological barriers and reduces geographical gaps. In case you want to start a business you can collect a big share of information even without walking out of a room. Business deals, meeting, conferences, staffing, and a lot more business processes have been shortened to just a few clicks away.

Due to information technology it has been possible to chat, video call and share data sitting miles away. Covering distances has been reduced by replacing traveling from road and water to air. Trains at higher speed also have been introduced even some of them are controlled by people back at the station. Import Export is a matter of days in the current era.

The world is shrinking refers to the impact of the internet that made the world a global village. Everything in this world has become easy to access. In order to get something from far apart, the long wait is not required anymore. The term Global Village confer to the view that the world has shrunk to a smaller size. All this happens just because of easy access to the internet.
