In October 2012, Hurricane Sandy slammed into the New Jersey coast. This storm was the second most destructive storm in United States history and affected 24 states including the entire eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine, the Appalachian Mountains, and as far inland as Michigan and Wisconsin.
