Why do volcanoes take on different shapes at earth’s surface?

There is a gap between plates that cause magma to come on surface,as it comes on earth surface it forms a layer and it happens again and again that causes to form a cone shaped mountain like structure called volcano

Cause of he different elevations  hope this ?
