Caracas is the national capital of Venezuela, a tropical country. The nearest sea port of Caracas is the port of La Guaira (1 hour from Caracas city) which is the second largest port in Venezuela.  

It is located about 150 m above the sea level. The climate at the sea port is a typical local steppe climate characterized by semi-arid climate with low precipitation levels. This port is located at the climatic zone of BSh (hot semi-arid) according to Koppen climate classification. So the region has hot summers and warm to cool winters. It receives an average rainfall of about 23.7 inches annually with lowest in April and highest in November.
