Most galaxies in the universe are moving away from ours, due to the expansion of the universe. but one galaxy is so close to us that the expansion of the universe is not the dominant factor in its motion relative to us: m31, the andromeda galaxy. this is the nearest large spiral galaxy to the milky way. it is located at a distance of about 0.8 mpc (2.6 mly) from the milky way. assuming the expansion rate of the universe is 72 km/s/mpc (22 km/s/mly). what should the recessional speed of the andromeda galaxy be?
