The image below shows a certain type of global wind: the earth is shown as a circle. equator is shown and labeled at 0 degrees. 30 degrees north and south latitudes are shown and labeled. 60 degrees north and south latitudes are shown and labeled. curved arrows are shown from the top and bottom ends of the circle towards 60 degrees north and south latitudes. what best describes these winds? trade winds blowing in a curved manner due to the rotation of earth polar easterlies blowing in a curved manner due to coriolis effect polar westerlies that curve due to air above poles being relatively cooler jet streams that curve due to air above equator being relatively warmer question 13(multiple choice worth 5 points) (03.05 mc) why should extra precautions against sun exposure be taken when boating? water cancels out most sunscreens. uv rays are blocked over land, but not over water. the heat of the water increases potential skin damage. the water reflects uv rays, adding to exposure. question 14(multiple choice worth 5 points) (03.04 mc) what preparation should be made for a hurricane that is likely to move onshore? move to a high tide zone near the sea move to a friend's place in a low lying area know the nearest evacuation shelter for the zone turn off the radio to avoid listening to uncertain news question 15 (essay worth 7 points) (03.04 hc) explain how precipitation happens. use complete sentences and give at least two supporting details. precipitation happens when the water evaporates and then condenses in the air and turns into clouds. then when enough water droplets form together they drop as either rain, hail, snow, and sleet. you must check the box below prior to submitting your exam! check this box to indicate you are ready to submit your exam explorer toolbox workload my folders current course: instructors monitor all areas of a student's account student e-mail accounts are to be used for flvs course-related email only and not for general introductions or spamming of people in your address book. remember to click the logoff link when you have completed your work in the course. fdk391.02
