Plz explain the purpose of the city beautiful movement and how it began. (site 1)

The City Beautiful Movement was a movement for beautification of the cities to put it simple. This movement began because of the ideas and propagating of the people involved into architecture. They thought that by making the cities more beautiful and better organized, the people will will enjoy in them, there will be people that would want to visit, them, there will be less violence and criminal activities etc. This idea was accepted by the authorities, and big physical change of the cities started, with much better organization, new, modern infrastructure, unique pieces of architecture, attractive and marking monuments, quickly transforming the landscape of the cities across the United States.
