I'd do b since hard situations like these requite real thought and first of all he's threatening someone! You as a friend may sound helpful but first of all you don't want him to keep thinking about it and hurt him with those nasty thoughts. Second always ask an adult cause many kids no matter how old can easily say an answer that is negative or positive to the situation itself.
