The victim, after having collapsed in his loss after being pick pocketed, was largely ignored. People stood and watched as he acted on the way he did. Some ignored him, however, and it was a show of how terrible humans can be in that regard. Truthfully, it was a large loss also back then... so it was understandable that he'd react that way.
