Which type of punctuation is most similar to a period? select one: a comma a semicolon a colon an apostrophe

So first, we need to cross out the ones we all know isnt the answer. Its obviously not an apostrophe.

An apostrophe is '

What i think is the most closest to a period is a semicolon. ;

Semicolon is probably the correct answer.
