What is a theme of “the road not taken”? how does the writer develop the theme?

The poem is about making choices, the narrator has two roads to take each with a uncertain outcome. This applies to everyday live like should I study or play games each with a uncertain outcome if you do study you might make a A+ on the test if bot you could fail or maybe you wont. The theme is making unknown choices with unknown outcomes.
