A writer reveals his or her purpose by using tone and slanted language. The definition of slanted language is to write down the detail that suits the writer's purpose. The writer will also leave out the details that do not suit his purpose. The definition of tone is the attitude that the writer takes towards his subject and his readers. The tone of a piece written by an author goes a long way to influencing the reader. If a writer is passionate about a subject and writes passionately about the said subject, he will influence the reader to become passionate about his topic.
