What are the various markings of upper class in the great gatsby? what distinguishes it from other classes?

Well you have the East Egg which is where the people with old money live. When Nick goes to Gatsby house for a party there is a group with East Egg who are thinking and saying these parties are for animals while the ones they hold are more classy. The West Egg is where the newer money people live, though Gatsby lives there and there are rumors he comes from old money. Then of course when they talk about the valley of ashes is where the poorer people live including Myrtle Toms mistress which is why when she says daisys name he breaks her nose because he thinks he is allowed to since he is better than her where as he would not lay a hand on daisy because she also comes from old money
