Here is the correct sentence: last week, i saw a friend cheating on a math exam, much to my surprise. my college has an honor system that i take seriously - therefore, ignoring what jeff did wasn't an option. i had two choices left; report the cheating to the professor or confront my friend. i decided to confront jeff (i thought i should hear an explanation before i did anything else). besides, he's a good student; i didn't understand why he would have to cheat. when i asked him face-to-face why he cheated, he said he was afraid he would fail the exam. he said he felt really terrible about what he did, as he should. he also said he'd never cheat again, and i believe him. i told him i wouldn't report him. in addition, i offered to him study for the next exam. i think this experience taught jeff not to cheat - or i hope it did. for my part, i learned two things; friends friends, and it's important to have confidence in yourself.
