(1) My heartbeat quickens with each rung I climb up the ladder. (2) I feel lightheaded as I glance toward the ground, but I know it is just my nerves. (3) As the guide lifts onto the wooden platform, I know that my turn is next. (4) When I hook the cables into the straps of my harness, the guide tests their security.
