Part A: Plot Thought/Vocab Directions
1. Divide your book into 10 sections (take the total number of pages and divide by 10. For example, you have a 200 page book. 200/10=20 pages per section).
a. Use 10 Post-It notes to mark the sections in your book.
Within each of your 10 sections: a). find one quote, b). write 1 reaction to that quote, c). define 2 vocab words, and d). write one sentence for each vocab word you selected.
Use the following instructions to organize your 10 quotes, 20 vocabulary words, and 10 vocabulary sentences.
b. In a notebook or on a separate piece of paper:
Write the one quote you found particularly interesting or confusing. Include the page number. (10 quotes total).
Write at least one sentence that expresses your reaction to the quote. Ex. “This reminds me of…I wonder if…I visualize…I’m confused become…This makes me think…”
Write down at least 2 vocabulary words that you don’t know or aren’t very familiar with. Include definitions that you put in your own words. (20 words total).
Choose 10 words from your list of 20. Write 10 complete and quality sentences that demonstrate your understanding of the word.
