War Innocence and Experience Identity

How does the setting, language, a character, or other literary element contribute to a specific theme or meaning in the novel?

Consider the time, place, and social context of the story.
Think about the powerful language that the author uses. Does the way the characters speak represent who they are or is it all relative to the setting and situation they are in?
Is there a particular character or characters who exemplify the theme? Analyze and explain how they contribute to that theme.
Is there another unique characteristic about this novel and the way it is written that helps the reader understand the themes and messages the author is trying to convey?

** Use the notes you took as you read, as well as insight gained from class discussions and activities to write an essay connecting a specific element from the novel to one of the suggested themes.
