Why is orange an orange ?

     The fruit came first! The fruit was traded and this is how its name was spread. It traveled to Spain, and the Spanish word for orange is "naranja". In Old French, the fruit became "orenge" and this was adopted into Middle English. Now we call it orange!

Well you gotta be more clear.

An orange can be an orange because of it’s color but how do you get orange? You can create it by mixing the primary colors of red and yellow. Now we know that the 3 primary colors are yellow, red, and blue. You can’t create any color from there but you can create unlimited colors with these 3 colors. Now you have the question what is an orange? Is it the fruit or is it the color, and why was an orange named after a color? Now oranges can rot, when they start growing mold on them it’s a really whitish and green color. Now that obviously doesn’t make it an orange. Now think of anything orange, sunsets, and oranges. Thats basically all you can think of! Maybe the occasional cheese but thats pretty much It. There are other fruits that are orange but why is it that they are not called orange? Now the dying question here is why is an orange a orange. Now through my expertise I’m pretty sure the color orange was the only color they gave because what else would you be calling an orange?
