You should have read the first three chapters of the Epic of Gilgamesh for today's class discussion. Answer either of these discussion prompts: 1. The story tells us of Enkidu's creation and transition...it also says that after he was with the harlot, "Enkidu was grown weak, for wisdom was in him". Do you think that the more man knows the weaker he becomes? In essence, does knowledge make us weak?

2. What do you think the significance is of Enkidu's murmuring love for six days and seven nights with the harlot? What does that mean?

3. Who do you think was victorious in the battle between Gilgamesh and Enkindu? Why?

4. After reading about the warnings given Gilgamesh in his dreams, discuss your perception of dreams and their meanings. Do you think that people are really given warnings and insight through their dreams?

Choose only one of the four and write a 250-300 word post. Remember that this should be written in your own words, if you chose to use outside sources you must give them credit. Plagiarism will earn you a grade of zero. Use standard grammar, and spelling.
