Read a trending current event from an on-line news source (must be a newspaper-not a blog). Write a half-page summary of the article. Make sure you identify the issue clearly

and any relevant information for your reader. Pretend like your reader knows

nothing about the issue that is covered in your current event.

Next, write a response ( separate paragraph) to the article. This could include

what you learned or what you still want to learn about this topic. It could also

include what you agree/disagree with in the article.

a complete predicate includes a verb or verb phrase as well as words that give more information about it. to identify a complete predicate, you need to find out what the subject is or does.

in this example, emmett dalton is the subject. what happened to emmett dalton? he was badly wounded.
