One day a lumberjack was folling a treo
on a riverbank when his axo glanced off
the trunk, flew out of his hands, and
disappeared with a splash into a doop
pool. Stunnod by his loss, the woodsman
sat weeping and walling on the riverbank
when the god Mercury appeared and
asked the reason for his distress.
"My axe has vanished into that dark
water," the lumberjack cried, and it is the
tool of my trade. Without it I have no way
to earn a living!"
A lumberjack sits weeping over his lost axo.
Mercury pitios him and gives him his axo
back. The lumberjack is overjoyed.
Mercury pitios a lumberjack and rewards him
for his honosty. Mercury is displeased by
another lumberjack and punishes him for his
dishonesty
