is very stupid, big and strong and sweet, he loves soft things

candy is an old ranch worker who has lost one of his hands in a farm accident. he's spent the best years of his life working on someone else's ranch, only to lose his hand and have little money.

curly

is the ranch owners son he is said to have vasilene in one glove to keep that hand soft for his wife

crooks

crooks. crooks is a lively, sharp-witted, black stable-hand, who takes his name from his crooked back. like most of the characters in the story, he admits that he is extremely lonely. when lennie visits him in his room, his reaction reveals this fact.

curlys wife

is lonly and seems to flirt with most of the men on the farm she does not like her hunband much.

Hi, my name is maya gupta.i'm here at a bank robbery that happened a few minutes ago.a man named tryce ramder is suspected to be the robber.i am here with daniel cottle to describe what happened."it was terrifying. we all just heard the door break and turned around. some man just had a gun and told us to freeze and drop our phones. luckily we had cameras. continuing on, the man walked up to a worker, and said "give me the money or i'll shoot you." i did not believe what i heard. after a few minutes, we heard sirens, and the robber looked fearful, yet so angry. so he took out a bomb and threw it near us. i was in the military, so i know what to do, so i told everyone to move away atleast and duck down and cover their ears. i almost got affected, but some woman was able to grab me and put me down, and cover my ears. she got affected, she passed out, and was taken to the hospital. i am gonna visit her now to her and give her gifts for what she did." you daniel cottle, let's all hope this woman will be alright. i am maya gupta and we are signing off. the opening scene of "sweat" exposes the great emotional charge of the story. it shows the violence and abuse that dyes the marriage between delia jones and skyes.

skyes decides to terrorize his wife by pulling a bull whip (which resembles a snake), knowing that she is terrified of those animals. skyes laughs cruelly at her and kicks the laundry with which delia has been working hard, telling her to get rid of it. skyes also comments on her religious manners, telling his wife how ridiculous they are. delia reacts by threatening skyes with her frying pan, generating even more conflict
