The importance of email is that it is a way of communicating. Sometimes you need to reach a co worker, a boss or someone else, and it isn't appropriate to text them unless you are especially close to them. Its extremely important  especially since for the past two years we have had a pandemic, a.k.a the Corona virus. Being extremely contagious, we've had to stay inside and quarantine.  Its a way for us to keep to keep in contact, because without it relationships would fall apart. You can contact your teachers, professors, doctors, basically anyone that would be inappropriate to text.
