When Mr Hong Jun left school to become a primary school teacher, it was by no ___ easy to find a job; he, therefore, decided to go abroad as a volunteer teacher for a year. When he realised he would be teaching deaf and blind people, he was a ___ taken aback. However, after a month's training, he felt more confident that he would be able to . with the situation, . The basic living conditions also ___ as something of a shock. Hong's school was situated in areas of Sarawak village, where his accommodation had consisted of one room and a shared bathroom. Not only was the space , but there was no electricity, Internet or telephone access, so he felt totally cut off from the outside world. Now, back home to Johor, Hong has used his valuable to set up a similar school. The specialised help that he offered to the deaf and blind has made a huge . to dozens of children who would otherwise find themselves struggling to learn. Hong would certainly like to revisit Sarawak someday. At the moment, though, he is concentrating his efforts on his school to cater for children with other learning difficulties, too. It seems as if the more people get to know him, the the demand is for his skills.​
