What did you learn from the boy in the stripped pajamas be specific

The author of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is trying to tell us that regardless of the many things that divide us, we are all people and are thus fundamentally the same. Despite their different backgrounds, Bruno and Shmuel are similar in many ways and form an unlikely friendship. The author also cautions against abusive treatment of others in his crafting of Bruno's ironic and tragic death. Bruno is killed at the very same camp that his father, a Nazi commander, is in charge of.
