Read the passage: Micky stood at the mailbox, her hands shaking with anticipation, nerves, and excitement, as she prepared to mail her application to one of the most prestigious universities in the nation. She had worked diligently her entire academic career to get to this point; she had taken the most rigorous courses in high school, from advanced chemistry to trigonometry, and aced each one. She was no Einstein, so she had put every ounce of energy into her studies. She had participated in as many extra-curricular activities as time allowed. Her effort had two purposes: to get into this college and to earn as much financial aid and as many scholarships as possible. Sometimes she felt she had the weight of the world on her shoulders, but when she received her acceptance letter, she knew it would all be worth it.
