WRITE A 1-2 PAGE SCREENPLAY SEGMENT must include the 6 ESSENTIAL Parts to Scripts:
1. Scene Heading: Describes where and when (day or night usually). Use INT for Interior (Inside) or EXT for Exterior (Outside)
Example: INT. OFFICE - DAY
2. Action: Describes what we can see or hear on screen. If we see a character for the first time, you must put that name in ALL-CAPS for the first time. After that, you may write their names normally
3. Character Name: Whenever a character speaks, this should appear above what they say in the middle of the page in ALL CAPS. YOU MUST WRITE THESE IN ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME.
4. Parentheticals: Usually describes how a character says something. These are used sparingly.
5. Dialogue: What a character says. If an action interrupts a character’s dialogue, then you may write (CONT’D) next to the CHARACTER NAME when it continues
6. Transitions: When a scene ends or changes/begins somewhere else. Used sparingly. Usually done with FADE OUT or FADE IN
