In OMaM Ch.2, we meet several more characters including Candy, Crooks, and Curly. These men can be viewed symbolically as representations of major issues in society. Of what do each of these men symbolize? Include lines of text with citations to support your answer

Old people, racism and sexual relationship.

Explanation:

Candy represents the issue of old people and handicap people who are considered useless in the society. Candy by old age and his handicap of only one hand. Crooks represents the race which divides the citizens of common country, Crooks because of his race. Curly represents the sexual relationship of rich people for fun. Curley is the boss' son. The children sees their old parents a burden which they thrown away in the old homes. They forgot their hardships and sacrifices. Racism is a major issue of our society which sometimes leads to violence in the country.

well stockyards mean a large yard containing pens and sheds, typically adjacent to a slaughterhouse, in which livestock is kept and sorted. and i'm assuming that by party you   mean a large group of people which does make sense because chicago is a very crowded place much like new york. stockyards tend to take up a lot of room due to needing the area for pens to keep animals in and the fact that stockyards are usually right by slaughterhouse where they process and distribute the product. so its much like a zoo but with some dead animal products close by.

wordsworth tends to see nature as 'out there'; a presence which surrounds humans, and contributes to human life, but is different from humans. if you look at a typical wordsworth poem (there was a boy, ye knew him well ye rocks) - wordsworth talks about nature as something that needs to be learned about and understood, nature is different from us.  

if you look at a byron poem (the isles of greece is a good one) - byron looks at nature mainly for what it already means to man. wordsworth will look at a landscape and see the mountains, trees, valleys, and rivers as almost spiritual presences - wordsworth wants to get to know nature.  

byron will look at the same landscape and he will want to know who lives there, what are the villages? are there any farms or mines, is there some history?  

wordsworth looks at nature for what it is; byron is forever asking what it means.  

wordsworth thinks that humans are part of nature; byron thinks that nature is part of being human
