Pre-writing for your own “Dream Deferred” poem: Think of a dream deferred---one that you haven’t yet reached. It can be something important to you or others. It can also be something a bit more light-hearted. First, come up with a topic. Then make a list of nouns, verbs, and adjectives you might use in your poem. Finally, come up with at least one simile, metaphor, or analogy you might use in your poem.
