students at our school spend up to 23 percent of their waking hours
watching television and only 9 percent pursuing hobbies and personal
goals. Write a letter to the editor of the school newspaper arguing that
teens should spend less time watching TV and more time on hobbies
and activities. Be sure to give reasons for your opinion.

A. Some might say that students should pursue hobbies rather than watch television, but for some teens, watching television is a hobby.

B. Hobbies are not only fun, relaxing, and fulfilling, they have the potential to build life skills and even help teens to discover a future career.

C. According to the survey, the most popular hobbies at our school are sports and fitness activities that help students be healthy and feel great.

D. Students who often combine watching television with completing homework, and this leads to poor grades and decreased understanding.
