1. Why does the poet choose words with these repeated sounds? In poetry"lines composed a few miles above tínteme abbey William"

William Wordsworth’s poem has qualities of both a dramatic monologue and a lyrical ballad. The speaker is not alone as he describes the world around him, but his is the only voice that the reader will hear.

‘Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey‘ is not written with a clear rhyme scheme, but rather, the poet has focused on meter. Throughout the poem can be found the pattern of iambic pentameter. This type of verse is made up of five sets of beats per line. The first beat is unstressed, followed by one stressed. The choice by the poet to avoid using any discernible rhyme scheme was due to the fact that he was addressing another person. This allows the poem to be read as one side of a conversation rather than a grand declaration.
