Write a short story involving people coming together because of a specific event or a common cause. You may write about family gatherings, friends coming together, strangers helping each other out in a moment of crisis, anything that involves people coming together.

Does not have to be realistic in any way. You want dragons, include them. You want cyborgs and robots and mutants, include them. You want dashing princes and princesses who want to marry the first man they meet, include them.

Also, be sure that your protagonist goes through some sort of personal growth, or change throughout the story.

How are they affected by the events that are occuring? How do these events influence their actions and decisions?

Basically, how does the character react to the problem?
