The popular visiting areas in the park are the North Rim, the South Rim, and the Grand Canyon's interior. The South Rim has more visitors than the North Rim. With its spectacular scenery and history, the Grand Canyon remains one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United States.
The Grand Canyon was formed by the Colorado River millions of years ago. The Colorado River flows through seven states in the United States. The Colorado River and its streams ran through the canyon, slowly cutting through rocks, which resulted in the formation of the rock layers that we see today. The canyon is made up of different types of rocks with bright colors of red, yellow, orange, and purple. These rock layers get their color from the presence of various minerals.
A major attraction of the canyon is the Grand Canyon Skywalk, which is made of glass and is 4,000 feet above the canyon floor. It enables visitors to enjoy the wonderful view of the Grand Canyon more closely. The size of the Grand Canyon, the rock walls, and the cliffs, make it a grand sight.
