The way people listen to music changes constantly. Before the time of streaming music over phone or computer, people bought albums sold on a small circular discs called CDs or compact discs. Before that, rectangular cassette tapes were used to record albums. Listeners placed the CD or cassette tape into a large device called a stereo or a boom box. Smaller portable versions of these allowed the listener to take the music with them. Earphones connected to the device just like people use their phone to listen to music today.
