The plot of this story is simple and diabolical. Renowned game hunter Bob Rainsford is traveling on a yacht with his friends when he suffers a wreck and ends up being the only survivor stopping on an island beach. Walking through the jungle there is a kind of castle inhabited by the sinister Count Zaroff, a noble Russian who ended up taking refuge on the island, escaping the communist revolution.  The Earl is a born hunter, and immediately invites Rainsford to a different hunt: "the most dangerous game" as defined by the Russian. Zaroff invites Rainsford to be his hunting partner. Horrified, Rainsford refuses the offer. The offended nobleman then makes his guest the new target of his hunt. Having as a rule the following proposal: he releases Rainsford in the jungle and gives him the deadline until midnight the next day for Rainsford to hide; then he will hunt them relentlessly, having the deadline until dawn to escape the Russian. Thus, a conflict is established between Rainsford and nature and another conflict between Rainsford and Zaroff.
