read the following sentences from "day of the butterfly's"
our teacher a cold gentle girl, who wore glasses with the gold rims and in the stiff solicitude of certain poses resembled a giraffe, wrote something on a piece of paper and showed it to myra. and myra recited uncertainly. "my brother has had an accident, , teacher."

after reading these sentences the reader can most likely conclude that:

a. the narrator admires her teacher
b. the teacher has had a proper upbringing
c. myra does not normally use good manner
d. the narrator is on friendly terms with myra

the pronoun reference replaces a noun, but you have to make sure there's no room for confusion.

in the first sentence "her" could be referring to shely or to the sister. the answer there is "shelly called her sister and told her about the new baby."

in the second sentence "it" could be referring to the roof or the floor. the answer there is "since the roof leaks on the family room floor, we need to repair the roof."

i believe being nice to m family is the right thing to do. they are people too and the deserve the same respect i have. they are there for me when i need them. i believe i should always put my family first because that is just how life is suppose to be. i love each and every member of my family and i should respect and act like i do. i believe that being nice to your family makes it easier for them to be nice to you. thats why i believe what i do.
