Moreover, she longs for a connection with her Mama that she does not yet have. However, after Mama decides to give the quilts to Maggie, Maggie changes as well. She becomes more confident as she realizes that she has some qualities that her sister does not share. She is also able to develop a deeper relationship with her mother.
