What words in lines 1-5 have strong connotations? how do these connotations affect the tone of the poem?

"Seethes" appears to mean something negative, so I realize that this word sets a negative tone toward the ballad. Likewise "like a scared feline" makes "fumes" appear to be negative. 
"Fumes", "startled", "thump" are all words in lines 1-5 that have solid essence. These implications influence the tone in the story by making kind of a desolate, pitiful photo of the jail/general lyric. Demonstrates how anxious the detainees must feel. 
The words in lines 1-5 that have solid implication are wind and window. The wind "crashes" and "swings", "fumes". At that point it portrays the state of the window, "broken glass" and it "thumps against iron edges". These indicative words influence the tone with explaining on the brutal conditions setting the tone to long for sensitivity. 
"A mass of wind crashes" and "fumes like an alarmed feline" has solid undertones that pass on a negative tone which sets the lyric in a similar tone. By having a "divider" of twist crash against windows seem like a feline, it makes the peruser feel awkward about the earth.
