The second is that his greatest works were developed after he was struck deaf and the third is that as his illness progressed, and with his temper having always been passionate, Beethoven began a stage of separation from all his inlfuencers and thus started to develop music that became completely different from that of earlier composers, and thus, he helped music to transition from its classical stage to its Romantic stage.
