Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey was probably born in 1818 when slavery still exists. At the age of 16, he was hired out to Mr. Covey, a "slave breaker", to destroy his spirit and force him to accept slavery. Begin to write and learn English at a young age, he also begins to learn more about his own kind and start to fight for freedom. “In 1841, gave his first speech at the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society” which he become a brilliant speaker. America started to celebrate Fourth of July which the speaker did not like the fact that there were celebrating the free and slaves still exist.
