As you wrote your essay for this lesson, how did you define your audience and how
did you ensure it would be accessible to your whole audience?

Identifying Your Target Audience's Needs and Wants:

1. Face them where they belong.

2. Take more time to listen than to speak.

3. In order to find out if something interests someone, you should ask them.

4. Think about what you do for others and whether it is worthwhile to you.

Conduct observational research, interviews, surveys, and Likert scales to create a picture of your audience:

1. Adapt the speech to your specific audience by using the specific audience's information while preparing the speech.

2. Direct observation allows you to get to know the members of the audience personally by using your own senses such as hearing, sight and maybe even smell.

3. By using your hearing, sight, smell, and others, observation helps you directly know your audience.
