Algernon is a mouse who has undergone surgery to increase his intelligence. The story is told by and written by Charlie Gordon, the first human sand it touches on  moral themes such as the treatment of the mentally disabled

antecedents refers to the phrases, clauses or words which are replaced with one of the third personal pronouns.
