Read this over and tell me if it sounds good. I think its kind of choppy. Tom Buchanan was brought up from a wealthy family and owned a gorgeous large estate. He was also a football athlete when he was of a younger age. Daisy Buchanan references their money and the West Egg as “old money” (Fitzgerald). Nick Carraway states, “They were careless people, Tom and Daisy – they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money of their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made” (Fitzgerald) which only furthers the characterization of both Daisy and Tom of who have been privileged of living without consequences.
