His idea was to have a large general store with cheap prices. He bought extra-large quantities to get rock-bottom prices direct from the manufacturers. This saved his customers the added costs incurred by companies that use wholesalers. However, when Frank died, the corporate mentality infected the company. Shop-Mart moved into almost every community and forced mom-and-pop stores out of business. In turn, this has left communities with only one place to shop and work—Shop-Mart. Instead of helping poor communities, now Shop-Mart destroys them.
