I suppose the average, unenlightened person would have thought her ugly. After all, with an asymmetrical face,
high forehead, close-set eyes, broad nose and thin lips, she certainly didnâ€t meet the criteria for conventional
beauty. Yet she had an allure that I found irresistible. I found her dignified manner admirable, her confidence
bewitching and her slight smile endearing. I knew at once she was my soulmate.
Which theme is supported the writer's use of the words with opposite connotations, such as criteria and
conventional beauty compared to allure, irresistible, bewitching, and soulmate?
Ideas about beauty are not as fixed as we may think they are--they are related to our feelings for someone.

For less enlightened people, a warm and caring personality will never be enough to inspire love.
You should never judge someone based on physical appearance, before getting to know her.
People who do not fit the typical definition of beautiful are less likely to find love.
