By Lisa Bigelow, Competitive athletes develop stress-coping skills that make handling pressure situations easier. And because competitive athletes don't want to let their teammates down, they work hard not to. This example shows all the skills that athletes learn and deleplove when playing sports. Althlets learn how to develop stress, how to handle pressure, and how to achieve their goals. These lead to a great impact on time management, and problem solving. These skills that they learned can be applied to real life situations. People go through stress everyday and are loaded with a lot of work to do. People who didn’t really learn how to cope with handle all this pressure are most likely going to fall behind and deal with stress and anxiety which could ruin their work image. While people who can learned how to deal with pressure would most likely succeed and prevent stress which also improves work image and can even get special privileges to new opportunities people didn't get. The people who learned how to handle stress most likely used a schedule to help them improve what they need to do which will reduce stress and would have counted as time management, and people who can handle a great deal of pressure could've used breathing exercises that they learned from playing their sport to help conquer the pressure which is counted as problem solving. In Source 2: “What are the Benefits of Competitive Sports for Youth?” by Lisa Sara Davis, it states, youth sports can help deter negative behavior, such as joining a gang, because competitive sports provide an outlet for expression, friendship and controlled aggression. This example shows all the skills that teens learned when playing sports. The skills are deterring negative behavior, friendship, and controlled aggression. These skills can lead to a great impact on social skills, collaboration, and communication. Let's say there is a group project that uses collaboration and social skills, people who don’t have social skills and collaboration would most likely fall behind and leave the group to suffer and even fail. This can also lead to a negative relationship with your peers and people wouldn’t want to hire “difficult people”. People who don’t have social skills are most likely not going to communicate with other people and even suffer from stress. While people who have collaboration skills work easily with other people and account employees' ideas, skills, experiences, and opinions. When individuals work together openly, processes and goals become more aligned, leading the group towards a higher success rate of achieving a common goal. Which in the example is the group project. Having social skills would allow better connections and relationships with peers. The relationships could lead to increases of happiness and even prelieages too since it’s proven that working with other peers is a strength. Teens develop skills from sports which can lead to a impacts to a lot of employability skills. Employability skills help improve your performance, minimize errors and promote collaboration with your coworkers, and enabling you to perform your role more effectively. So without being said Teens should participate in competitive sports because it helps improve employability skills.
