In a New City The city had both, the beauty of nature and the marvels of man-made structures. The two friends wanted to get familiar with the city before starting work on Monday. At dawn on Sunday, Drew and Alex set out walking. They had met a man the previous night at dinner after they had arrived at their hotel. He had told them about the famous fountain at the City Square. He had also told them that the fountain had been the source of drinking water in the city for many years. He had added that even today, many in the city quenched their thirst at the fountain. It took them about an hour to reach the City Square. They felt a sense of awe when they looked up at the statue of a lady holding a tilted goblet. The water that gushed forth from the goblet looked clear and clean. When they took a sip of the water, they found it to be refreshingly cool and sweet.
