He wishes to find out more about time, how time moves, which directions can time go, and whether or not people can travel into a different dimension using time. He wants to know how time affects the space time continuum, what if time moved in every direction and at every speed, etc. All of these are the questions he wants to learn about. Time can be something anyone is interested in. there are a lot of mysteries about time, many questions to be answered. So how are his questions answered? In Cory Doctorow’s short story, Another Place, Another Time, Gilbert is so fixated on time because he is interested in how time is similar to space, how time has many dimensions, and how there is a new world beyond space and time to explore and learn.
