Expository essay subject ? ?

i'm very behind on my english because i can't seem to figure out a subject to write it on. while i'm allowed to choose a subject, it has to relate to one of the stories we read or its author.
i'm not asking for someone to write my essay or anything, i just really need some subject suggestions, !

we've read the following:
"the first confession" by frank o'connor
"clearances" by seamus heaney
"do not go gentle into that good night" by dylan thomas
"not waving but drowning" by stevie smith

if you're familiar with any of these, could you me figure out a subject that relates to it? any will be appreciated!
