In my opinion, I feel that the theme for Of Mice and Men is that it can be hard to do the right thing for your friend, and it’s shown through the character George. “The hand shook violently, but his face set and his hand steadied. He pulled the trigger.” This shows how George had to kill his friend Lennie even though it was hard for him to do. Another example is when George told Lennie to fight Curley.“Get ‘im Lennie!” Lennie did not want to fight Curley, and George knew they could get in trouble, but he still wanted to make sure Lennie defended himself. All in all, I think these examples show why this is one of the themes.
